Monument construction is underway with fabrication of steel in progress. Granite has been cut and polished. Monument site being tested for foundation.

Updated and reprinted Leonard Arrington's book "The Price of Prejudice". 2000 copies produced and distributed to schools and libraries in Utah and SF Bay Area.
Self-Guided Tours of Manzanar National Historical Site Manzanar Committee; Sue Kunitomi Embrey
Completed and produced 15,000 copies of brochure "Reflections in Three Self-Guided Tours of Manzanar" which includes suggested tours and history of JA in the United States with supplemental reading list.
America's Concentration Camps: Remembering the Japanese American Experience The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation; Peg Zitko
1) Opened exhibit "America's Concentration Camps: Remembering the Japanese American Experience" on April 3, 1998 and which will run through January 5, 1999 at Ellis Island.
Historic Ketchikan Walking Tour Kiosk Historic Ketchikan Inc.; Karen Stanley
Constructed a 3-sided kiosk which depicts the JA population in Ketchikan before, during and after WWII. Shows how Steadman-Thomas District had successful JA-owned businesses in the 1930's. Kiosk dedicated 7/3/98.
Public Art in Pike Place Market Seattle JACL; Jill Beppu and Janice Yee
Commissioned artist Aki Sogabe to create 5 porcelain enamel panels representing JA farmers that were part of Pike Place Market prior to WWII. Historical Commission unanimously approved installation of artwork.
